In my country, Turkey, things, especially like English and Mathematics, is generally used for daunting the younger people who is perpetually trying his, or her future to take under guarantee. Each of them is regarded by the state authorities as an “unique” arm in order to fulfill an elimination between “good” and “bad” students. It doesnt mean that learning a foreign language is bad. What i claim is rather obvious, all the governments from the past to the present in Turkey saw english and math as weapons for eliminating young people who have been struggling for their own lives.

Hi James, I don’t want to talk about how English is the first language in the world, but it happened now and it’s number one, and you can communicate foreign people everywhere, I have been spoke with people from China and Brazil, everywhere with just English language.

it doesn’t mean you don’t need to study another languages, but it can help us to communicate very fast with many people from everywhere easily.

I have been teaching myself Russian, English is helping me to meet Russian people and study with them

Hello James, I am from Indonesia and one of our government ministry has set a rule in order to be civil officer, one must have TOEFL score of 600…can you imagine, no wonder people need to study english and yes, I agree with spotlight’s edition with the title"crazy english”, english is necessary not only for business but also in love. For example, I have a friend (who were graduated from the US years ago) and now she has a plan to get married with american man. I don’t imagine them speaking Indonesian within their family in the future, rather most likely they will speak English in their marriage life. So, no matter in career nor personal life, people still need to study English even in a simple thing such as updating your facebook & twitter status you must pertain with english.
